Stupid Questions: In 1998 I was asked a question by a worried Belgian client if I could help with his company’s state of readiness for the Millennium Bug; we all worried the world would come to an end on 1 January 2000!
Client: Do you know anyone who has experience in millennium conversion?
Me: well, actually I don’t. I can always ask His Holiness Pope Sylvester II who had to deal with this issue a thousand years ago but he is probably dead by now.
Actually, I lie. I only gave the first 4 words of my answer, I didn’t want to lose such a gullible client.
