    Foodie

Food is possibly the best life-affirming aspect of our lives.  I have always been a foodie.  I was lucky enough to marry one so, we had no option but to have three foodie children who in turn, hooked up with three foodie partners.  Most, if not all of our respective siblings are also foodies and we love talking about food, tasting, exchanging recipes and secretly, competing with one another as to who makes the best this or cooks the best that.  Since my illness, with an imposed period of zero business activities, I really got the urge to try new things and cook / bake more than ever, as though I was on a mission to feed the world.  However I warn you, I am not going to give you full recipes; this is not a cookbook as such.  Instead, I will share some secrets and give tips.  If you really want a full recipe, write and ask me; I will be happy to give you the full works.

    My Kitchen Disasters

When it comes to amateur cooking, we like to be assessed on our successes.  We don’t really like to talk about or publicise our failures.  The soufflé that doesn’t rise, the steak that rivals old boots in its toughness, the…

    Simply: HUMMUS

Hummus is perhaps the most popular dish in the Middle East bar none! It is simple, cheap, versatile, and suited for any meal of the day.  No mezzeh collection would be authentic without a hummus dish.  It can be eaten…

    Simply: FALAFEL

So, what is it with falafel?  It is a humble patty made of pulse with some spices, fried and then eaten with bread.  Because of its post-frying colour brown, it is sometimes known as the ‘poor man’s meat’.  Indeed, due…

    First, Let’s KISS

Sorry to disappoint you but, I am not going to talk about the affectionate action of kissing between lovers, family members, or friends. This is the acronym most of us are familiar with which stands for ‘Keep It Simple, Stupid’,…
