‘Every day, I wake up and see I am good looking.  One day, I would like to wake up and find I am rich instead’.

These words were uttered to me by a colleague at work when we met in the office kitchen seeking our early morning dose of caffeine, and it made me smile.  No doubt, it is a funny line but, it does make you think.

How ironic it is that we pay significant amounts of money to make us look better, from straightforward makeup products to the more drastic corrective or enhancing surgeries.  But, when we have the looks without the money, we wish for more of the latter, possibly at the expense of the former.

I guess it is a human condition that we don’t necessarily value, or appreciate what we have until we no longer have it.  I am sure this applies to more than money and looks; it must apply to possessions, health, even relations with others.

Thank you for the inspiration CC…
